Pledge
My words are my own, and I will not include generated text in my posts.
If I employ probabilistic compute (generative AI) in the writing process, I will only use it as follows:
As an editorial review, resulting in a shorter (rather than longer) post
As a research aid, assuming everything is a hallucination until I’ve verified it
For image generation, in those limited instances when I can’t find anything more suitable and don’t want to break the site aesthetic by publishing without an image. They’ll be obvious.
Probabilistic compute isn’t going away. I’m interested in how it can, alongside other technologies, enable more meaningful human connection - rather than obscure that connection behind a torrent of generative garbage.
